From the heart of Country, the rivers begin their journey —
flowing like songlines across the land,
carrying the stories of those who walked before.
Each current speaks a language of movement and belonging,
where water is more than life — it is memory,
binding places, people, and spirit together.
As these rivers stretch across the canvas,
they remind us that every path leads home,
every stream finds its way back to the source.
The colours of Country rise around them —
earth, fire, sky, and seed —
all breathing in rhythm with one another.
In their meeting, we see the pattern of connection:
old stories flowing through new hands,
ancient pathways still alive beneath the surface.
Rivers of Connection is a map of spirit —
a reminder that no matter how far we travel,
the flow of Country continues through us,
calling us back to where it all began.

From a single point, the energy of Country expands —
circles of time, sound, and spirit moving outward without end.
Each ripple carries the echo of creation,
linking past to present,
self to ancestor,
moment to eternity.
Ripples of Country speaks to the living pulse that connects all things.
Even the smallest movement — a thought, a song, a step on the earth —
sends waves through the great web of life.
In stillness, we feel them returning,
reminding us that we are always part of something far greater,
always held within the flow of Country.

High above the dreaming lines, the eagle soars —
its shadow tracing stories across the land below.
Spirit messenger, guardian of the old ways,
it moves between worlds of flame and sky,
guiding the heartbeat of Country beneath its wings.
The kangaroo follows the tracks of dawn,
its path watched over by the strength of ancestors.
Where the sun burns and the rivers breathe,
sky and earth speak as one —
bound by the songlines of flight,
by the endless rhythm of life returning home.

Beneath the rising sun, the old waters awaken.
The turtle — my totem, an ancient teacher —
moves through the currents of time,
carrying wisdom from the deep places of Country.
Each breath, each ripple,
holds the stories of ancestors who travelled before me,
their songlines flowing through salt and spirit.
As the first light touches the sea,
it speaks of renewal —
of old knowledge rising again with each dawn.
This painting is a reminder that we are never separate from Country.
Like the turtle, we return —
again and again —
to the waters that made us.

Radiating from the centre, Songlines of the Heart speaks to the living pulse of Country — the way stories, spirit, and kinship travel across time and place. The central form represents the heart of Country, where creation and connection begin. Each pathway flows outward like songlines — carrying memory, ancestry, and transformation through the land.
This work reflects the rhythm of belonging, where every track, footprint, and circle echoes the movement of people, culture, and spirit in harmony.

Ngura Kulini Nyaṉu acknowledges Country as a living, sentient presence — one that listens, remembers, and holds ancestral knowledge. Through layered mark-making and circular forms, the work reflects a reciprocal relationship between person and place, where memory, Law, and belonging are carried through Country across time.

This work speaks to the presence of spirit moving through Country.
Layered lines and enclosed forms echo ancestral pathways, memory, and the unseen forces that continue to call, guide, and hold knowledge within the land.
The repetition and flow reflect listening — to Country, to story, to what remains alive beneath the surface.
